This Privacy Policy describes how Wantify (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and handles data when you use the Wantify Shopify app.


1. Who This Applies To

This policy applies to:

  • Merchants who install and use the Wantify app on their Shopify store
  • Customers of those merchants who interact with Wantify features (wishlist, restock notifications)

2. Data We Collect

Merchant Data

When you install Wantify, we receive the following from Shopify:

  • Your store domain and name
  • Shopify shop ID
  • Billing plan and subscription status

Customer Data

When a customer uses the wishlist or restock notification features on your store, we collect:

  • Shopify customer ID and email address
  • Products and variants added to their wishlist
  • Restock notification preferences (opted in or out)
  • Timestamps of wishlist activity

Email and Conversion Data

When we send restock notification emails, we collect:

  • Email delivery status (sent, delivered)
  • Whether a notified customer subsequently placed an order (for revenue attribution)
  • Shopify order ID and revenue amount, used solely to measure conversion from restock emails

3. How We Use Data

We use collected data to:

  • Display and manage each customer’s wishlist
  • Send restock notification emails when a saved product comes back in stock
  • Show merchants analytics about signups, emails sent, and conversions
  • Process billing and maintain your subscription

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.


4. Third-Party Services

Wantify uses the following third-party services to operate:

  • Shopify — Store and customer data is accessed through the Shopify API. Shopify’s privacy policy applies to data stored within Shopify.
  • Resend — We use Resend to deliver restock notification emails. Customer email addresses are transmitted to Resend solely for this purpose.
  • Gadget — Our application backend and database are hosted on Gadget.dev. Data is stored on infrastructure provided by Gadget.

5. Email Communications

Wantify sends emails only for the purpose of restock notifications — when a product a customer saved to their wishlist becomes available again.

Every restock email includes an unsubscribe link. Customers can opt out at any time and will not receive further emails after unsubscribing.


6. Data Retention

We retain customer wishlist and notification data for as long as your store has Wantify installed. When you uninstall the app, your store’s data is deleted within 30 days.


7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you or your customers may have rights including:

  • Access to personal data we hold
  • Correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion of personal data
  • Opting out of email communications

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. Data is stored in the United States.


9. Changes to This Policy
